NJforever's Articles In Misc

I started this book on Saturday and finished it today. It's about the Continental Army under Washington in the turbulent year of 1776, but also includes the point-of-view of the Brits under William Howe and civilians. It starts out at the Siege of Boston (which did start in 1775, but that's beside the point) and follows the army from there until our victories at Trenton and Princeton. I thought this book very clearly summarized how the American soldiers lived, and the state of affairs of t...

DISCLAIMER: You don't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy this, but it helps Alright, you read the title, so you know this involves Star Wars. Which makes a couple of you instantly disinterested. But just listen a sec, okay? What I've got for you could possibly appeal to writers as well. You see, I created a couple of websites. Their purpose? Role-playing in the Star Wars universe. I know what you're all thinking: "What a loser this NJforever must be to actually make sites for Star Wars...

Okay. Chances are, you've been reading the reviews flitting about JU on Revenge of the Sith. You've heard some good things, and some bad things. Well, I forgot every single last one of those articles, and then went to see the movie. So, here is what I thought of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Now, the opening sequence was amazing. I think just about everyone, like the movie or not, can agree on that. I was a bit partial towards the General Grievous character; he was just cool. Wish he w...

I was watching Win Ben Stein's Money today, and I noticed a discrepancy. This is usually a pretty good game show, the poor man's Jeopardy, but with wit and humor. Anyway, it was the final thing, where they ask the finalist and Ben questions separately. A rare occasion occured in which I knew the answer to a question. It was "Who was the last Whig president who served in 1848." Their answer was Zachary Taylor. And that is just wrong on so many levels First of all, Zachary Taylor was NOT the...

Apparently, I'm funny. I can conjure up some big laughs whilst at school. My day in laughs begins in homeroom, or in the past few days GEPA homeroom (GEPA is a standardized test; ugh). When we finish, we can pretty much talk until lunch. There is a bloc of 4 people in the top right-hand corner from the back of the room that talks in homeroom and after GEPA which I am a part of. Besides me, it consists of (I'm just going to use the first letter here) T, C, and K. Here's a snippet of conversat...

Grrrr. This is some of the earliest I've ever been up. Also some of the earliest I ever fell asleep. Kind of funny how whenever I fall asleep so early it's always an accident. The question is, now what do I do for 3 hours? So after much stretching, adjusting to the light, and other post-sleep activities, I decide to see what everyone on JU is up to. I log on, I read, nothing much new, stuff I read before, one or two new articles, one or two people getting "outraged" by an article in humor ...

Recently I wrote "Losing My *^*$^&% Mind!" about how certain insanities in my head were starting to gain more influence. Well, it would seem that it was merely a wild flicker before the candle went out, a desperate push before their downfall. Insanity in my mind now has less control than it has had in over 2 years. I don't know exactly what caused this rather abrupt mental healing. All I know is that in the past 2 days, I've had only 2 (or maybe even less) 'memory attacks' that once came ...

Gahhhhh....My head...my head..... This is getting harder and harder to take. I am slowly being driven insane. And I don't know how to stop it. For you see, no outside influence is causing this drift to insanity. No, my mind is going crazy because of itself. Gah....the memories......Ever since that damned therapy, I can't get them out of my head. They just keep showing up, throwing me into violent twitching and constant headaches. And they haven't been going away. In fact, they are multi...

If you happened to be watching NBC news today, you may have seen a video about reconstruction in Florida. If you happened to catch it, then you might have seen the short talk with the man who was on a comitee investigating. That man, Andrew Coburn, is no other than my Uncle Andy! It was so cool to see him on! Maybe it's a sign that my TV appearance is soon

Hi all. Politics aside, whos your favorite non-modern president (in other words, no president after Wilson). Mine is definetly Andrew Jackson. He did alot of good things for this country, just watch out for those Anti-Jacksonian biographies
