The life of a modern left-handed democrat.
Part 9 of My Presidential Review Series
Published on March 24, 2005 By NJforever In History

Settling in for a long write, the series now reaches William Henry Harrison. Harrison's election is considered the first modern election, complete with songs, themes, and hoopla. Harrison was portrayed as a simple frontiersman, despite being from a grand manor on a plantation in Virginia. In order to convey this appearance, he gave a long Inaugural in the cold without a jacket, which later proved to be his downfall. He was the first president to die in office, and the first president under the Whig party. Harrison served March 4, 1841 to April 4, 1841.

Only one thing can be said of the Harrison Administration: it existed. Other than that, nothing. All Harrison did before dying from pnemonia was appoint his Cabinet. He had appointed them on how well they could do their job, thus hoping to end the spoils system, but with the mass resignation of his appointees during the Tyler administration, the spoils system was restored.

Harrison died on April 4, 1841.

Um...that's it. Nothing to see here, nothing to review. Sorry if you were expecting more, but there's nothing to say.

Overall Ranking: Due to the brevity of his administartion, Harrison will not be ranked.

"The people are the best guardians of their own rights and it is the duty of their executive to abstain from interfering in or thwarting the sacred exercise of the lawmaking functions of their government."

Hmm . . . does the Harrison administration even deserve a comment by the Great, Splendid, Magnificent, Omniscient Fazz?

I don't know. We should ask him, but apparently we must ask elsewhere, since the only Fazz here is you.
